Hi
My name is Pete - I'm a video games and esports lawyer (with a bit of tech and YouTube/streaming work here and there) based in London.
I originally started this blog back in 2014 as a bit of fun to write about the games I was playing and enjoying at the time. As time went on though I started writing more and more about 'legal' stuff going on within the games and esports industries. And since people generally seem to be enjoying this, that's what I'll keep going with for now! It'll all be about video games or esports, since those are 2 of the things I love doing and writing about.
My ultimate goal is to help those of you just starting out in these industries. I want to highlight some of the legal and business pitfalls that can crop up and help you avoid these. I'll always try to make whatever I write clear and concise (but hey, don't hold me to that - I'm a lawyer after all) and not a total slog to get through - legal stuff doesn't have to be super dry!
Anyway, without getting overly lawer-y - please remember that I'm not your lawyer (unless I am, in which case hi!) - I'm just a guy on the internet. Legal matters are always really fact specific and tiny details can change things a huge amount. Nothing on the site should be considered legal advice in any circumstances.
Pete
